Brendan Rodgers led Celtic to beat Chelsea 4-1 in a pre-season fixture.

Chelsea were poor against Celtic, but Brendan Rodgers believes Enzo Maresca is on the right track.

Rodgers has explained how he thinks Enzo Maresca wants his Chelsea side to play.

He said: “It’s very clear how he [Maresca] wants to play. He wants the full-back to roll in from the right side to get the four inside.

“There’s a back-three swivel and [he wants] his front players in the box. He will be very persistent with that.

“You only need to look at the talent Chelsea have got, and there is still some of the guys still to come back in, so I think they’ll be looking to be competitive.

“They finished last season very, very well and will now look to step on and challenge for that top four place. The talent is there and I am sure Enzo and his staff will be pushing the players to fight for that position.”
