Chelsea were beaten 4-1 by Scottish giants Celtic in their ongoing pre-season tour of the United States.

Following the 2-2 draw with Wrexham, this defeat to Celtic comes as a huge disappointment to Chelsea fans.

A Chelsea fan from Nigeria has compared Chelsea’s situation to Nigeria’s political situation, saying from Buhari to BAT.

He wrote: ‘From Buhari to BAT’.

In context, former Nigerian president Muhammed Buhari is seen as one who took the country backwards with his economic policies, while current Nigeria president Bola Tinubu is taking the country further behind. Nigerians are currently bemoaning the economic hardship under BAT (their current president).

However, Enzo Maresca still believes Chelsea will be ready for their season opener against Manchester City.

Asked if he has enough time to transmit his ideas to his Chelsea players before the start of the new Premier League season, Maresca said: “We are, for sure, going to be ready for that game or at least we are going to improve things for that game.

“But I am not thinking for the first official game that everything is fine. It’s a little bit difficult.

“The result is always important but in this moment we need to judge and analyse different things.

“On the ball we created chances, off the ball we probably conceded too much and that is something we need to improve.”
