Manchester United have reportedly approached Marcos Alonso about a move to Old Trafford this summer.

The interest in Alonso stems from injuries to Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia, leaving United in need of an experienced left-back.

Despite his limited appearances last season, Alonso’s versatility as both a left-back, wing-back and centre-back makes him an attractive option.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano insists that the transfer is very unlikely to happen at the moment but has refused to rule it out completely.

Speaking on his live stream, the journalist said: “We had rumours on some players. As of today, Marcos Alonso’s camp has not received any approach from Man United. No negotiations.”

Marcos Alonso featured for Chelsea for six years, and made 212 appearances for the Blues. He was famous for his timely runs into the box and his good finishing.

Alonso scored 29 goals for Chelsea. He left the Blues for Barca in 2022 and is now a free agent.
