Chelsea snapped up Malang Sarr from Nice in the summer of 2020, and he signed a five-year contract with the club.
After an initial loan spell with Porto, Sarr returned to Chelsea the following year under Thomas Tuchel.
Sarr barely featured for Chelsea ever since, but has still been in the club’s books.
Ligue 1 club RC Lens have now confirmed the signing of Malang Sarr from Chelsea.
The Frenchman joins Lens on a 2-year deal, as he has committed to the club until 2026.
Sarr has not played a game for Chelsea since the 2021-22 season and struggled on loan due to injuries.
With just a year left on his deal, Chelsea terminated his contract 12 months early. Chelsea have now rid their purses of his £120,000-a-week outlay, which was costing them £6.2m per year.
