Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Italian Serie A side, Fiorentina have made contact with Chelsea over a potential move for midfielder Cesare Casadei.

Casadei spent the first half of last season on loan to Leicester City, where current Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca was in charge.

Cesare Casadei was a key player for Enzo Maresca, but was recalled by Mauricio Pochettino for the second half of the season, amid the injury issues at the time.

Unfortunately, Casadei didn’t feature much for Chelsea under Pochettino.

Romano wrote: “Fiorentina have made contact with Chelsea for Cesare Casadei, with club expected to decide if they want to advance in talks this week.

Romano also reported: “There are ¾ clubs keen on signing Casadei.”

With the abundance of midfield talent in the Chelsea squad, it’s yet to be seen whether Enzo Maresca will loan out Casadei or keep him, following their successful partnership at Leicester City.
