Enzo Fernandez was involved in a massive controversy just after Argentina won the Copa America.
The Chelsea midfielder recorded a video of he and his Argentina teammates chanting an offensive and derogatory song about the French team.
There are a number of black French players in the Chelsea team, who felt offended by Enzo Fernandez’s act, chiefly Wesley Fofana who made it clear via an Instagram post.
If not settled, this can cause enmity in the Chelsea dressing room.
Enzo Fernandez has since released a statement of apology, while Chelsea have opened up disciplinary proceedings.
Chelsea captain Reece James insists he will resolve any disputes between Enzo Fernandez and his teammates when he returns to the squad.
Reece James also revealed he has spoken to Enzo Fernandez about everything.
“It’s obviously a really difficult situation,” James said.
“I think Enzo acknowledged he did wrong and quickly put his hand up and apologised to the club, the team and the people offended.
“He hasn’t arrived yet so I don’t know if there’s anything to amend. I’ll have to make that judgement when he comes back in.
“But I hope everyone will be on the same page and can kind of move forward from this situation.
“I’ve spoken to Enzo and everyone involved but the conversations have to stay in house.”
