Enzo Fernandez has been wrapped in some racist allegations, after he and some of his Argentina teammates chanted a derogatory song about the France national team in an Instagram live video after their 2024 Copa America win over Colombia.

The song contains some offensive lyrics, thus: “Listen, spread the word, they play in France, but they are all from Angola, they are going to run well, they like to sleep with trans people, their mum is Nigerian, their dad is Cameroonian, but on the passport it says: French.”

Atletico Madrid and Argentina star Rodrigo de Paul, has revealed Lionel Messi warned them not to do anything discriminatory.

“When the [Copa America] final ended, Messi came and the first thing he said was, ‘nobody taunts anyone, let’s celebrate and enjoy our victory’,” Rodrigo de Paul told Clarin.

Only a few Argentina players followed Messi’s advice while the others, went on to sing a racist chant directed at France’s national team on the bus.

Enzo Fernandez has faced the most heat since the incident, as it was him that recorded the video.
