Cole Palmer scored England’s only goal as the Three Lions were beaten by Spain in the Euro 2024 final.
Palmer came on for Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo, and scored just 142 seconds later.
For all of Cole Palmer’s brilliance, he never started a game for England all through Euro 2024. No thanks to Gareth Southgate who didn’t believe in him.
Rodri has hailed Cole Palmer, and believes his former Manchester City teammate will be a top player.
Speaking on ITV after the game, Man City star Rodri said of Cole Palmer: “I know this guy; he is a huge talent. He is going to be a top player in the next years.”
Meanwhile, Cole Palmer was in tears after the final whistle, and he had encouraging words for his teammates after the game.
“We got to another final, there are positives to take,” the Chelsea star told ITV.
“Obviously everyone wanted to go a step further, and we’re disappointed that we didn’t… [but] the World Cup’s in two years’ time, we need to remember this feeling and hopefully push on and try and win it.”
