England were beaten by Spain in the Euro 2024 final, with Chelsea’s Cole Palmer recording a goal and Marc Cucurella recording an assist for Spain.
Cole Palmer came on in the 70th minute and equalised just three minutes after, with Spain having taken the lead through Nico Williams immediately after the restart.
Despite Cole Palmer’s effort, it wasn’t enough for the Three Lions to claim the trophy, as Mikel Oyarzabal scored the winning goal for Spain from Marc Cucurella’s cross in the 86th minute.
Cole Palmer was in tears after the final whistle, and he had encouraging words for his teammates after the game.
“We got to another final, there are positives to take,” the Chelsea star told ITV.
“Obviously everyone wanted to go a step further, and we’re disappointed that we didn’t… [but] the World Cup’s in two years’ time, we need to remember this feeling and hopefully push on and try and win it.”
