Cole Palmer was a revelation for Chelsea last season, as he took the Premier League by storm.

In just his debut season at Chelsea, Cole Palmer grew into a top-class player, and was Chelsea’s best player of the season.

Former Manchester City defender Joleon Lescott has claimed that Pep Guardiola felt Cole Palmer had something special because he didn’t pass to Kevin De Bruyne in training.

Joleon Lescott told High Performance: “He [Pep Guardiola] said he knew Palmer had something special with personality when he doesn’t pass to Kevin [De Bruyne] when he asks for it.

“A lot of youngsters will come up and when Kevin shouts for the ball, they will try and pass to him, he said Cole [Palmer] doesn’t do that.

“If there’s something better on for Cole and the team, that’s what’s happening, not that Kevin needs the ball.”

Cole Palmer managed 27 goals and 15assists in 48 appearances across all competitions. He scored 22 goals in the Premier League and finished second in the race for the Golden Boot.
