Nicolas Jackson had a mixed debut season at Chelsea. He could blow hot and cold in one game, and his season was also hot and cold.

Jackson, scored 17 goals in 44 games for Chelsea last season, but formed a reputation for missing easy chances.

Mauricio Pochettino stuck with Nicolas Jackson all season, but will new boss Enzo Maresca tow same path?

Speaking to Gambling Zone, William Gallas said: “Nicolas Jackson is clearly upset at Chelsea for Mauricio Pochettino leaving.

“Poch gave him the opportunity to have that confidence and he gave him a very good first season in the Premier League.

“The new manager will need time to get even more out of Jackson, but he had a very solid season, so I think he can improve again.

“He’s still young and the next step is to get to the 20 goal mark, which I think is possible next season for him.

“He’s still very raw and missed some huge chances, but I think he has all the tools to become a very good player in the future.”
