Marc Cucurella played the entire 120 minutes as Spain defeated Germany 2-1 in extra time in the Euro 2024 quarter-final to book a place in the semi-final.

The Chelsea left-back made one mistake, as he lost the aerial duel to Joshua Kimmich, leading to Germany equalising just a minute before the end of regulation time.

Aside that mistake, Marc Cucurella was solid all game for Spain.

He was reliable at the back, winning the ball three times, blocking two shots and winning four duels.

Cucurella was also effective going forward, and combined well with Dani Olmo.

In the first half of extra time, the 25-year-old did well to win the ball preventing Thomas Muller from going one on one with Unai Simon.

Chelsea fans have again mocked Gary Neville over his scathing criticism of Marc Cucurella.

Gary Neville had predicted Spain wouldn’t go far because of Cucurella playing at left-back.
