Chelsea recently had a £42 million bid for Atletico Madrid striker Samu Omorodion rejected, according to The Sun.

The Spain under-21 international has been likened to former Chelsea striker Diego Costa.

Atletico Madrid are keen to keep Omorodion, especially after he was loaned to Alaves following his arrival from Granada.

The 20-year-old has yet to play for Atletico as he was sent on loan for the season to Alaves, finishing the season as the club’s top scorer, with 8 goals.

Despite his potential, Atletico value him highly and are not willing to part with him for the current offer.

Atletico Madrid reportedly want €70m for the young striker.

Chelsea have been linked with top strikers like Benjamin Sesko and Alexander Isak this summer, but nothing has come from such moves. The Blues have already signed young striker Marc Guiu.

It’s yet to be seen whether Chelsea will sign another striker this summer.
