Chelsea have confirmed the signing of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Leicester City.

The English midfielder has signed a five-year contract with Chelsea, with the option to extend it for another year (until 2030).

Dewsbury-Hall was Leicester City’s best player last season and excelled in Enzo Maresca’s system. He scored 12 goals in 49 appearances and won the Leicester Players’ Player of the Year award.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has vowed to bring his qualities to the Chelsea team.

Speaking about what qualities he’ll bring to Chelsea’s midfield, Kiernan Dewsbuy-Hall told the club’s official website: “I’m a box-to-box midfielder,.

“I am somebody who likes to attack, drive at defenders and make things happen with goals and assists. I will also give 100 per cent for the team defensively and I am someone who overall can contribute in every aspect of the game.

The 25-year-old midfielder also claims that he aspires to emulate N’Golo Kante who spent seven years at Chelsea, after signing from Leicester City.

Kante is seen as the greatest box-to-box midfielder of his generation, and Dewsbury-Hall wants to imitate his playing style.

He added: “I was at Leicester with Kante. I was a scholar when he was in the first team. Seeing him progress [to Chelsea] and do great things with the club just gave me extra motivation to do a similar sort of thing.”
