Chelsea confirm sale of another top academy star for nearly £30m

Chelsea have confirmed that the club has sold Lewis Hall on a permanent basis to Newcastle.

Hall spent last season on loan with Newcastle, and made 18 league appearances.

Newcastle were obligated to buy Hall, after his loan last season. Overall, Chelsea will receive £28m for Hall, and also received £7m for the loan.

Hall was highly rated at Chelsea, and was named the Academy player of the Year in 2023 and made 10 first-team appearances for Chelsea.

Chelsea confirmed the deal, thus: “Chelsea can confirm Academy graduate Lewis Hall has completed a permanent transfer to Newcastle United following his season-long loan at St. James’ Park.

“We wish Lewis the best of luck in his next chapter and look forward to seeing him again soon.”
