Cole Palmer is yet to start a game for England, as the Three Lions continue to struggle in Germany.

England have struggled to perform, and the performances have been far from encouraging. The midfield lacks flair, and the attack has also seemed stifled.

Cole Palmer has only played 20 minutes for England, and has looked the best player for the Three Lions.

Speaking ahead of England’s round of 16 clash with Slovakia, Gary Neville told England boss Gareth Southgate that Cole Palmer should start for England on the right wing, in place of Bukayo Saka.

“I think I would probably bring him in for [Bukayo] Saka, and I love Saka to bits,” the ex-Man United captain said on The Overlap.

“I love Saka, but I honestly think Palmer just has to be given a game. I think he has to be given. I don’t know. Just something tells me. The way he played for 20 minutes the other night, he deserves it I think.”

Surprisingly, Southgate opted to bench Cole Palmer for this game.
