Cole Palmer played his first game of the Euro 2024 tournament in Germany in England’s goalless draw with Slovenia.

Cole Palmer was introduced in the second-half of the game, as he came on for Bukayo Saka.

Palmer brought life into England’s play, and always looked to make something happen whenever he had the ball.

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has admitted Cole Palmer deserves to play, and doesn’t mind if Bukayo Saka is dropped back to play left-back so Cole Palmer can start in attack.

“I’m starting to think, I saw a stat about Kieran Trippier being our second most productive player, touches and passes,” the Gunners legend told ITV.

“I’m thinking, how are we going to get Palmer into the team if that’s the case? If that’s the case, with how naturally left-sided Saka is, maybe can you put Saka in at left-back and put Palmer on the right-hand side? Simply because we need to get some balance and get some fluidity in the game.”
