Cole Palmer was only given a 20-minute cameo as England played out a goalless draw with Slovenia.

There have been calls for Gareth Southgate to play Cole Palmer, but the Three Lions boss left it until after 70 minutes in England’s final group stage game.

In that short time, Palmer gave a good account of himself, and looked England’s best player. He was always dangerous whenever he had possession of the ball.

Manchester United legend, Roy Keane has spoken highly of Cole Palmer following his Euros debut performance.

Speaking on ITV, ex-Man United midfielder Roy Keane said: “You wouldn’t want to play against Cole Palmer. We knew when he came on we’d be talking about him. Every time he gets the ball you think something is going to happen.

“Would you want to mark Palmer? I’m hard to impress and every time he got the ball I thought something was gonna happen.”
