Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher is yet to start a game for England in the ongoing European Championship.
Gallagher came on as a substitute for Trent Alexander-Arnold in midfield during his second appearance of the tournament against Denmark.
The Three Lions were outclassed by Denmark in the middle of the pack, and Gallagher has admitted they must perform better.
He said: “We know we can do a lot better. There’s levels we can get to and we’re not quite there at the minute.
“But the sign of a good team is getting the points and results when you’re not playing well and that has been the case for us the last couple of games.
“We’ve got to give credit to Denmark, they had a good game and made it tough for us. They’re a good side, but we need to look at ourselves and where we can improve.
“We know how good we can be, so it’s just about getting to that level. It was a tough time to come on [from the bench] they were playing well and we were trying to get a foothold in the game.
“We should be winning those games, but when you look at the game, I think a point is not a bad point. We know if we’re going to win the tournament we have to play a lot better than what we are.”
England will be hoping to return to winning ways against Slovenia, but so far the performances haven’t been eye-catching.
