England kicked off their Euro 2024 campaign with a 1-0 win against Serbia, however, it wasn’t the best of displays from Gareth Southgate’s side.

Chelsea star Cole Palmer was on the bench all game, as England struggled to dominate Serbia, especially in the second-half.

Rio Ferdinand has advised Southgate to give Palmer a chance in England’s clash against Denmark.

Speaking on BBC Sport about the Euro 2024 group stages, Rio Ferdinand said: “The game [Serbia vs England] needed a bit more control.

“Where are the players that can do that? Someone like Cole Palmer who has got that bit of swagger and arrogance to say give me that ball.

“The way Dusan Tadic came on for Serbia [in the second half], he came on and said give me the ball, I will be that outlet for you guys’.”

England will definitely need a dose of Cole Palmer magic against the Danes; but it’s left for Southgate to make the right choice.
