Chelsea have manipulated the system – Former club chairman claims

Former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan has claimed Chelsea no longer have issues with PSR, and have manipulated the system to balance the books.

According to Simon Jordan, Chelsea’s financial position is strong enough that they can drive a hard bargain for Conor Gallagher.

The Blues were reported to be desperate in their bid to sell Conor Gallagher, but Jordan has said that it may not really be the case.

“The game has moved a bit, despite all the naysayers suggesting Chelsea were going to fall between the cracks economically,” Jordan said on talkSPORT.

“They have played their cards and manipulated the system to use assets to overcome the challenges they’ve got.

“Maybe the pressures to sell Conor Gallagher, that were once there before, have been overcome by some different constructs. You might find yourself in the situation where Chelsea offer Conor Gallagher a new contract.

“How did Eden Hazard go to Real Madrid in the last year of his contract for the best part of £100million? I don’t know if they want to sell Gallagher or not, I don’t think he gets Chelsea where they want to go anyway.”
