Chelsea were reported to have agreed a deal for Brazilian teenager Pedro Lima.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Wolves have now hijacked Chelsea’s deal to sign Pedro Lima from Sport Recife.
The Brazilian club had initially agreed a deal with BluesCo (Chelsea’s owners) to sell him to Strasbourg. He was set to join the Blues at a later date in the future. But Sport Recife have made a dramatic U-turn to that.
Sport Recife have now announced that a deal has been agreed with Wolves for 17-year-old right-back Pedro Lima, and to send him back to England immediately.
An official statement from Sport Recife states: “Sport Club do Recife announces that it has signed a binding agreement to transfer the economic and federative rights of athlete Pedro Lima to Wolverhampton Wanderers, from England.
“The agreement is subject to customary conditions, including the athlete’s approval of medical examinations conducted by the English club. President Yuri Romao and the football management committee will detail the operation in a statement when all acts related to the business have been completed.”
