Brazilian wonderkid from Palmeiras, Estevao Willian has completed his medical ahead of a potential €65 million move to Chelsea.

The deal, which includes €40 million upfront and €25 million in add-ons, is close to being finalised as both clubs check the necessary documents.

Estevao, will join Chelsea in 2025 when he turns 18, is seen as one of Brazil’s finest talents.

Estevao has a nickname, as he’s known as ‘Little Messi’, or ‘Messinho’ in Brazil.

This nickname was given to him by his youth teammates, as he is a left-footed player playing on the right wing with pace and skills.

The 17-year-old forward isn’t a fan of his nickname.

“Estevao himself does not like this nickname,” Brazilian journalist Camila Alves told The Athletic. “He doesn’t use it anymore. Here, we now don’t call him (Messinho).”

Given the international rivalry between Brazil and Argentina, Estevao wouldn’t like to be referred to as Messinho (little Leo Messi), when there are other Brazilian greats he looks up to.
