Chelsea signed David Fofana in January 2023, on a six-year deal that will last through to 2029 with an option for a further year.
He spent the past season at Union Berlin and Burnley, scoring four goals in 15 Premier League appearances for Burnley.
Chelsea see potential for offers based on his recent performance. Additionally, the club is looking to sell Armando Broja as they aim to sign a new striker to compete with Nicolas Jackson.
Fofana had hoped he’d fight for a place in the Chelsea team next season. However, The Athletic claim that Chelsea are intent on selling the 21-year-old
“I haven’t thought about it yet,” the Ivorian told Capital Football when asked about his plans at Chelsea.
“I think I’ll go back and why not do the pre-season with Chelsea? [In January], I wanted to stay but some things happened… but for sure I have nothing to envy Nicolas Jackson, who is [also] my friend.”
