Manchester City legend Sergio Aguero has revealed his surprise at how Cole Palmer has blossomed at Chelsea.

Cole Palmer left Manchester City to sign for Chelsea in a £42m deal last summer, and he ended up being the team’s best player.

Aguero knew Cole Palmer as a City academy player, and didn’t expected he’d become this big under a short time at Chelsea.

“I saw Cole Palmer’s talent first-hand so I’m not surprised,” Aguero told Stake.com.

“But it was quite shocking to see how fast he adapted to a new team.

“It would normally be really tough for players to do that. You can tell that this process went exceptionally well by the amount of goals and assists Cole had during his first season.”

Palmer scored 22 goals and provided 11 assists in 33 Premier League games for Chelsea.

His form at Chelsea has earned him a place in England’s team for Euro 2024.
