Chelsea’s links with Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran has continued to wax strong, since Benjamin Sesko opted to remain with RB Leipzig.

It is common knowledge that Chelsea want to sign a new striker, with the Blues being linked with a number of striking targets at the moment.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has said that Chelsea are now closing in on Jhon Duran, who’s very keen to swap the Villa Park for Stamford Bridge.

Fabrizio Romano stated: “Chelsea keep working on Jhon Duran deal, not the only name but the most concrete option after new direct contacts also on Wednesday.

“Duran wants Chelsea — but all parties including Aston Villa and player side are still discussing terms of the deal. Nothing done yet.”

Interestingly, Chelsea will be playing in the Europa Conference League next season, while Aston Villa play a rare Champions League football.
