Chelsea are reportedly eyeing a potential bid for Manchester City striker Julian Alvarez, with speculations suggesting that the club could be willing to shell out a substantial £80 million to secure his services.
Alvarez has told people closest to him he wants to play regularly, having played second fiddle to Erling Haaland for two years.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, several English clubs have as well entered the race to sign Julian Alvarez from Manchester City.
Although Man City do not really want to sell their no. 2 striker, but they could be forced to consider if Alvarez asks for a move, and will consider selling for an offer worth €80m.
Chelsea are in search of a centre-forward to share the burden with Nicolas Jackson, who struggled to score consistently in his debut season.
Alvarez worked closely with new Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca at Man City, which could also make him favour a Chelsea move.
