Newcastle defender Keiran Trippier has admitted he has been impressed with the quality of Chelsea midfielder Cole Palmer.

Palmer had a sensational debut season at Chelsea, and was rewarded with a call-up to the England provisional squad for the Euros.

Trippier has named Cole Palmer as the player that impressed him the most at the England training camp.

After training with him for the first time with the Three Lions, Trippier hailed the quality of the young Chelsea star, and even admitted he was happy to play with the 22-year-old.

“It’s the first time I’ve trained with Cole; he’s really surprised me – a top-quality player,” said Trippier.

“It’s just how he finds the pockets [of space]. His awareness for where other people are and how clever he is for such a young age.

“It’s the first time I’ve trained with him this week, I am really happy that I’ve trained with him, he’s been quality.”
