Chelsea have barred three of its players from participating in the Olympics this summer.

According to Daily Mail’s Kieran Gill, Chelsea have barred Enzo Fernandez and Mykhailo Mudryk from participating in this summer’s Olympic games.

Malo Gusto has also been excluded from France’s squad for the Olympics. France U23 coach Thierry Henry admitted “Chelsea only gave me Ugochukwu”.

Chelsea are not willing to let go of their key players play in the Olympics and jeopardise their pre-season program.

For Enzo Fernandez and Mykhailo Mudryk, Chelsea can’t permit them to play in two major competitions in as many months with Enzo and Mudryk set to feature in the Copa America and Euros respectively, making their Olympics dream impossible.

Enzo Fernandez has fully recovered from his hernia operation and is now training with the Argentina national team ahead of the Copa America.

Chelsea want new boss Enzo Maresca to have a fully fit squad available for another preseason tour of the United States.
