Chelsea midfielder Cole Palmer was included in England’s provisional 33-man squad, after a stunning debut season at Chelsea.
Palmer was one of the best players in the Premier League as he scored 24 goals and made 13 assists in 39 games.
Cole Palmer won the Premier League young player of the season award, and was also nominated for the Premier League Player of the Year.
Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane has said he is ‘very happy’ to have Cole Palmer in the England squad ahead of the Euros, and wants the 22-year-old to be part of the final England squad for the Euros.
Asked about Cole Palmer after England beat Bosnia & Herzegovina 3-0, Harry Kane told Channel 4: “He’s had an unbelievable season.
“It’s never easy moving club as well so for him to do what he’s done in his first season at Chelsea, it’s a credit to him.
“We’re very happy to have him, I’m delighted he got his goal there. Of course we’re going to need all our players to chip in with goals throughout this tournament so the more people feeling good the better.”
Southgate will name his final 26-man Euro 2024 squad on Saturday, just a few hours after the Three Lions face Iceland in their final warm-up game at Wembley.
