Burnley are reportedly considering Frank Lampard as a potential replacement for Vincent Kompany, who has been appointed Bayern Munich manager.

Alongside Lampard, Steve Cooper is also on Burnley’s shortlist. Both managers are currently out of work and available for the role.

Burnley are looking for a swift appointment to prepare for the upcoming season and aim to secure an instant return to the Premier League after their recent relegation.

Craig Bellamy will take temporary charge of Burnley following the departure of Vincent Kompany.

Welshman Bellamy, 44, was assistant manager under Kompany at Anderlecht before joining the former defender at Turf Moor.

First team coach Mike Jackson, who took temporary charge of the side after Sean Dyche’s departure during the 2021-22 season, has been made assistant head coach.

Lampard has been out if work since serving as caretaker Chelsea manager last season, after the sacking of Graham Potter.
