Central defender: With Thiago Silva leaving and existing options like Axel Disasi and Benoit Badiashile yet to fully convince, Chelsea need an experienced central defender to stabilise their defence.

Left-back: The club requires a dependable left back due to the inconsistency and injury issues of current players like Ben Chilwell and Marc Cucurella.
