According to reports from Germany, Thomas Tuchel is reportedly setting his sights on becoming the next manager of Manchester United, sparking widespread speculation about the future of current manager Erik ten Hag. This development comes despite United’s recent FA Cup victory over Manchester City, with ten Hag’s position expected to be clarified next week.

Reports in Germany claim the former Chelsea and Bayern Munich coach is confident about taking the reins at Old Trafford. Tuchel’s decision to leave Bayern was further solidified after he rejected a last-minute offer to extend his contract with the German champions. Reports suggest that this decision was influenced by his desire to return to the Premier League and take on a new challenge with Manchester United.

Bayern Munich initially announced Tuchel’s departure following Leverkusen’s confirmation as Bundesliga champions, only to make a subsequent U-turn by offering him a new deal to stay on. This offer was declined by Tuchel, fueling rumors that Manchester United had already earmarked him as Ten Hag’s successor.

Mauricio Pochettino and Graham Potter are also rumored to be in consideration for the United job, as part of a broader managerial reshuffle envisioned by Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s INEOS Group, should they decide to replace ten Hag.

Tuchel’s tenure at Chelsea highlighted his capabilities, notably leading the team to a Champions League triumph in 2021 against Manchester City. However, his Chelsea journey ended abruptly in September 2022 amidst disagreements over transfer strategies with the club’s management.
