Chelsea sold Eden Hazard to Real Madrid for over £100m back in 2019, but the Blues are still cashing out from that deal till date.

Eden Hazard may have retired from his playing career earlier than expected, but he’s still paying Chelsea from Real Madrid’s pocket.

Chelsea are now set to receive £5 million more from Real Madrid for the Eden Hazard transfer in 2019.

Here is the catch:

When Chelsea sold Hazard, there was a number of add-ons dependent in the deal, one of which has now been triggered.

Real Madrid have qualified for the Champions League final this year, so Chelsea are entitled to £5m.

Even though Hazard’s contract was terminated last summer and he retired in October, the terms of his deal remain valid for Chelsea.
