According to journalist Miguel Delaney, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are interested in signing Chelsea academy sensation Josh Acheampong.

Acheampong’s standout performances in the Under-18 Premier League have not only earned him a senior debut under Mauricio Pochettino in Chelsea’s recent 2-0 victory over Spurs, but also significant attention from other clubs.

Now 18, Acheampong, who can play both as a centre-back and a right-back, has caught the eye of several top teams, including Tottenham and Newcastle, as well as three clubs that reached this season’s Champions League quarterfinals.

Journalist Delaney has noted that despite Acheampong being highly regarded at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea might need to sell him due to financial pressures.

The sale of the academy product would represent pure profit for Chelsea, helping them adhere to the Profit and Sustainability Rules. This potential transfer could significantly aid Chelsea’s financial strategy going forward.
