Victor Osimhen of Napoli might be on his way to Chelsea instead of Paris Saint-Germain, according to Vincenzo D’Angelo from La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Nigerian forward is looking to leave Napoli at the end of the season in pursuit of new challenges.

Both PSG and Chelsea have shown interest in Osimhen for some time, and his release clause is priced between €120 million and €130 million.

The release clause allows direct negotiations with the player, though it’s expected that both clubs will soon start talks with Napoli to try and reduce the transfer fee.

Osimhen is particularly attracted to the idea of playing for Chelsea, inspired by his admiration for Chelsea legend Didier Drogba and his aspiration to compete in the Premier League.

While PSG might highlight their stronger position in Europe to sway him, Chelsea are reportedly prepared to offer a significant salary increase from his current €10 million annual earnings in Naples, along with a prominent role in the team.

Chelsea’s offer could also benefit Napoli financially, as club president Aurelio De Laurentiis looks to possibly secure permanent deals for Romelu Lukaku and a promising young player, along with a transfer fee of at least €80 million.

With Osimhen’s potential departure, Napoli anticipates an active summer transfer window as they aim to refresh their squad following a disappointing season.
