Mauricio Pochettino hailed his young Chelsea squad following their dominant win over Tottenham.
Chelsea won the game 2-0, and Pochettino said afterwards that he needed time and patience in order to restore the club’s fortunes.
Chelsea fans seem dissatisfied with the team’s performance this season, and have called for the manager’s head at times.
But the Blues boss did not appear convinced of his own future, admitting it will be out of his hands come the end of the season.
Pochettino has however asked for time, claiming that he needs a bit of time with this young Chelsea squad.
“With this team, with young guys, of course I have the responsibility,” Pochettino told Sky Sports.
“But at the same time, we know the circumstances. I want to say, enough is enough, all the managers need time to translate their ideas and their philosophy. more when the team is [young like ours]. We need to have time. But it is not my decision.”
Asked if he fears the decision will be taken out of his hand, Pochettino admitted he wasn’t sure.
He said: “I don’t know; it is difficult to see every single week that I am [under] scrutiny and judgement, yes.
But it is not my decision to be here or not to be here.”
