Thiago Silva may have played his last game for Chelsea after the game against Aston Villa.

Blues boss Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed the Brazilian defender was forced off late in the game at Villa Park.

39-year-old Thiago Silva is in the final few months of his contract at Chelsea, and there are talks about him leaving this summer

Silva was subbed off just before the 90th minute, as he held his groin area.

Pochettino said: “We need to assess him after tomorrow. It is a pain in his groin, which was similar to [Crystal] Palace.”

Silva was sidelined for three matches including the League Cup final after picking up a groin injury in February.

Thiago Silva also recently revealed that he has made his decision on his future after Chelsea’s FA Cup semi-final defeat to Manchester City last week.

After the match, Thiago Silva who was still distraught by the defeat, was asked by reporters whether he knew what his future will look like.

He told Hayters TV: “You will know in the coming days.

“I don’t want to say anything now with my head in a defeat, a bit of sadness. But sooner or later it’s going to happen. The news will come out.”

Thiago Silva has so far made 151 appearances for Chelsea, scoring nine goals.

The Brazilian was a key player for Chelsea, as the Blues won the Champions League in 2021.
