Mathematically speaking, Chelsea can still seal a Champions League finish, but even that would take more than a miracle to achieve.
However, Chelsea goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic is optimistic that Chelsea can seal a Champions League finish.
“We will continue because we’ve still got chances in the Premier League to reach Europa League and Champions League,” Petrovic said after the defeat to Man City.
Chelsea are currently 9th in the Premier League, and 19 points adrift of a Champions League spot.
However, Chelsea have played three games less than Aston Villa, who are 4th in the league. If Chelsea can win all three outstanding games, the Blues will be 10 points behind Villa, with 12 points left to fight for.
The Champions League is definitely an almost impossible dream, but achieving a 6th place finish is very realistic.
