Nicolas Jackson was singled out for criticisms after Chelsea’s FA Cup semi-final defeat to Manchester City.

Chelsea could easily have won that game, if Jackson had his shooting boots on.

Nicolas Jackson missed several chances against Manchester City, and up to three or four were clear-cut chances.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano has said that Nicolas Jackson is only being made a scapegoat, claiming that Chelsea have had their issues this season, while Jackson is only just a young striker in his first season at the club.

He said: “Nicolas Jackson is being made a bit of a scapegoat after missing some big chances, but it’s his first season, coming from Villarreal, and he’s still very young.

“We need to understand that players are not robots, it’s been a difficult season for Chelsea but Jackson scored an important number of goals.”
