Chelsea suffered their first defeat in two months, as the Blues were beaten by Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley.
It should have been a Chelsea victory, if the Blues converted their chances, and Nicolas Jackson was the major culprit, as he squandered multiple clear-cut chances.
There was a controversial moment in the second half of this encounter, when Cole Palmer’s free kick was diverted off target by the arm of Jack Grealish.
Surprisingly, the referee did not even award a corner, and did not give Chelsea a penalty. VAR also didn’t come to Chelsea’s rescue, despite Grealish’s arm being outstretched before he attempted to bring it back down by his side.
Speaking after the game, Pochettino was convinced that it was a penalty.
Pochettino said: “I don’t know. I think you had a better view. From the touchline, it was difficult to see if it was a penalty.
“I was talking [to the referee] because after Jesus [Perez] and my staff said it was a penalty. I only said to him, ‘Why not go and check the penalty on the TV?’. I think from what I saw, [he nods his head to say it was a penalty], but move on.”
