Barcelona legend Carles Puyol has hailed Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo as a quality talent who can do great things for the club.

Signed for a whopping £115m from Brighton last summer, it hasn’t been the greatest of seasons for the Ecuador international, but he has shown his potential at times.

After impressing at Brighton, Caicedo was fought for by Liverpool and Chelsea, but it was Chelsea who sealed the deal.

The 22-year-old produced one of his best performances of the season in as Chelsea battered Everton 6-0 on Monday.

“He’s a great player,” Puyol told Ecuadorian outlet El Universo when asked for his thoughts on Caicedo.

“I think he has the necessary quality, the necessary talent to be able to do important things. But the most important thing is that he’s in a great team where he can grow a lot.”
