Thiago Silva seems to have lost his place in the Chelsea team of late.

Since recovering from injury, Thiago Silva has been on the bench, and made his first Chelsea appearance in two months against Sheffield United on Sunday.

Thiago Silva marked his return to the starting team by scoring the opener, but the Blues ended up drawing the game 2-2.

The veteran centre-back will see his contract with Chelsea expire at the end of the season, but there have been no talks so far about his future.

Mauricio Pochettino has said of Thiago Silva’s future: “It’s a thing that, at the moment, we are not talking about the future of the player in the squad.

“We are competing and that is a decision for sure the club needs to ask and we need to talk and agree the future of the squad at the end of the season. Of course, he is one of the players we need to discuss.

“At the moment, so far, there is nothing. At the moment, we didn’t discuss.”
