Frank Lampard is considered a potential candidate for the head coach position of the Canadian national soccer team, as per reports from The Telegraph via Daily Mail.
The ex-Chelsea and Everton manager is included in a list of prospective coaches being considered by the Canadian soccer federation, aiming to appoint a new head coach before the 2026 World Cup, which Canada will co-host with the United States.
Since John Herdman’s move to Toronto FC last summer left the Canadian team without a permanent head coach, Mauro Biello has been filling in temporarily. Now, it appears the Canadian soccer officials are interested in discussing the role with Frank Lampard.
Lampard, the former England international, is reportedly eager to make a comeback in management after his stint as Chelsea’s interim manager ended last season.
The 45-year-old, who concluded his playing career in North America with New York City FC in 2015 after transferring from Manchester City, has yet to undertake a coaching role outside the UK, having previously managed Derby, Chelsea (on two occasions), and Everton.
