This is one transfer that has haunted Chelsea since 2018. Signed as the most expensive goalkeeper signing till date, for a fee of £71.6 million from Athletic Bilbao.

The world’s most expensive goalkeeper has played under several managers at Chelsea, but has failed to justify his transfer fee. Joined Real Madrid on loan last summer, but has now lost his place there as well.

Kepa was expected to take over from Thibaut Courtois and be great for Chelsea for many years. The Blues however are yet to have a dependable goalkeeper ever since.
