Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk was the hero for Ukraine, as they sealed a place in the upcoming Euro 2024.
Ukraine faced Iceland in a play-off, to determine who would make the summer tournament.
It was Mudryk who got the winner for Ukraine in the 84th minute to seal a vital 2-1 win, after they had initially fallen behind.
Ukraine president Volodymyr Zelenskiy was delighted with the victory, and sent a message to the players on Telegram: “Thank you boys!
“Thank you to the team! For proving once again that when Ukrainians face challenges but refuse to give up and continue the fight, they invariably win.”
Ukraine played the game in a neutral ground in Wroclaw Stadium in Poland, on Tuesday night.
