Romelu Lukaku put in a good performance for Belgium in their friendly game against England.

Romelu Lukaku’s persistence paid off when Lewis Dunk panicked and conceded possession deep in England territory 10 minutes before half time, which presented the Belgium forward with the opportunity to provide a fine assist with the outside of his left boot, for Youri Tielemans to score his second goal of the game.

Lukaku made life difficult for Lewis Dunk, and was close to getting the win, but a late Jude Bellingham equaliser prevented the three points.

After his eye-catching display, Lukaku was asked by Sky Sports whether he wants to impress whenever he plays in England.

Romelu Lukaku then took a thinly veiled dig at Chelsea’s key decision makers when asked if had been keen to impress them during Belgium’s 2-2 draw against England.

Lukaku laughed in a dismissive fashion and responded: “You’ll have to ask Chelsea.”

“Yeah, this is football at the end of the day,” Lukaku added when asked if he was disappointed at the late goal conceded.

“It’s not over until the referee blows his whistle. You have to continue, this is a team in progress. We did an okay performance today.”

Lukaku is currently on loan with Roma, and has impressed for them so far this season.
