Conor Gallagher started for England in their friendly game against Brazil.

Gallagher started the game in midfield, and lasted 65 minutes on the pitch before he was subbed off.

Gallagher didn’t feature for England in the following game against Belgium – a 2-2 draw.

Gallagher has been told he didn’t take good advantage of the opportunity to break into the England team.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Craig Hope said: “Conor Gallagher let it slip through his fingers against Brazil. Errant passes, duels lost.

“The verdict was one of an opportunity missed. Gallagher, in fairness, broke the lines to make some purposeful forward charges, especially early on.

“He just does not have the quality on the ball to convert on positions of promise. It would be better if Declan Rice was making those bursts.”

Conor Gallagher has been a key player for Chelsea so far this season but needs to improve if he wants to be key for England.
