Chelsea’s move for a top striker signing this summer is inevitable.
The Blues have struggled for goals this season, and signing a striker is of utmost priority to the club.
Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres is one of the names high on Chelsea’s list, as Chelsea are scouting the 25-year-old striker ahead of a potential summer transfer.
According to Recordvia Sport Witness, Chelsea have already scouted Viktor Gyokeres on multiple occasions, and the Blues decided to have one final look at him during the international break.
According to the report, representatives of Chelsea were in the stands to watch the 25-year-old in action for Sweden against Portugal.
Gyokeres’s team lost the game 5-2, but he did put in an incredible shift and even scored a goal.
The scouting trip is believed to be Chelsea’s third scouting trip in as many months. It seems Chelsea are only picking big games to watch him in action as they were also present to see him play against FC Porto and Benfica.
The latest trip to watch him against Portugal, was not to take notes alone but rather to clear any doubts regarding a potential investment in him.
You’d recall that Sporting signed Gyokeres from Coventry City for €21 million last summer, and now has a valuation of €100m less than a year after.
The 25-year-old Sweden international is also being watched by Arsenal. He has featured in a total of 39 matches for Sporting and has contributed 50 goals already.
Viktor Gyokeres has scored 36 goals this season, and is currently one of the hottest strikers in Europe.
