Chelsea have another injury problem to worry about, as rising winger Angelo Gabriel has suffered a problem that could potentially rule him out for the rest of the season.

The 19-year-old winger is on loan with French club Strasbourg, and has been one of the key talents at Strasbourg – Chelsea’s sister club in France.

Angelo is now back at Cobham to gain a second opinion on an ongoing hernia problem.

There are fears that Angelo will miss the last two months of the season, which is bad news for Strasbourg who are currently battling relegation.

Strasbourg are currently four points above the drop zone. Their 3-1 win over Nantes before the international break was their first in Ligue 1 in 2024.

Strasbourg now have a huge task in hand without star winger, Angelo Gabriel.

The situation has been made worse by BlueCo’s inability to sign a winger in January at the request of manager Patrick Vieira. The former Crystal Palace boss and Arsenal legend has recently switched to a winger-less 3-5-2 formation as a result.

Angelo is seen as a bright talent, and is indeed one for the future.
